Earlier last month Maggie, Heidi, and I drove up to Portland, Maine. We stopped first at the Allagash Brewery and were able to get in on the tour of the brewery. It was a really interesting tour–the guy leading it was super knowledgeable about everything. You could tell he just loves what he does. I liked that. After that we did a tasting, then headed over to The Front Room, where we met up with Heidi’s sister Bess for brunch. From there we drove down by the water and went on a little stroll along the old railroad track. It was super cold, but quite refreshing.
Our next stop was the Portland Head Lighthouse. Oh New England, how I love thee. I felt like I was walking in a post card. See for yourself.
After the lighthouse we found a great parking spot and walked around Downtown Portland. We went to Coastal Maine Popcorn, which is a shop with all different flavors of popcorn. I also bought some Hunter rain boots, which have already come in handy footy handy. We ate again at Gritty’s then ended the night with THE BEST gelato I have ever had from Gelato Fiasco. The best. I really loved Portland and look forward to going back.
