Stray Thinking

I’ve felt as though my thoughts have been all over the place lately. So here they are:

-I miss Rusty. He died on Friday and we don’t know why, other than the fact that we know he was old (he would have been 13 in September.) We think he either had a stroke or some kind of organ failure, but we won’t ever really know. At first I felt a little silly feeling sad over the death of a dog, but I really do miss having him around.

-Thursday, 4/7, I drove down to Summer’s house after work. I left Emeryville at about 6:20 PM and got to Summer’s at about 12:30 AM. That was really great. Christine got there the next morning and we played and played. I drove back home on Sunday, 4/10, then went back to work on Monday.

-Monday, 4/11, I headed to AT&T Park after work to watch the Giants-Dodgers game. We lost, but it was still a fun night. I just love being there. Yay for baseball season. Yay for Giants season!

-Tuesday, 4/12, I tripped on one of those cement blocks (the ones that keep cars from driving all the way forward) in the parking structure at work. I scraped up my knees, my foot, and my elbow. But I didn’t drop my coffee.

-My foot just cramped up. My feet have been doing that lately. Not sure why, but that can’t be good…

-I haven’t really been thinking about my 23 Things. I’ll post an update on that soon.

-I’ve been putting off writing my testimony for WitnessSF. I’ve been telling Jeannie I would write something since January, and I’ve still got nothin. I’m not sure what it is that is making this so difficult for me, and keeping me from writing it. Pray for me. And, check out the blog!

-I really love CPK’s Thai Chicken Pizza.

-The downside to no longer being in school: no spring or summer break. My mom is planning a vacation for this summer and I probably can’t go because of work. Stupid adulthood.

-Although, if she ends up going on a cruise, I’ll be glad to not be going.

-I really like floral patterns.

-I’ve been wearing more dresses than I normally do. Although, the dress-wearing-sans-tights season will have to be put on hold for a while, due to my freshly scraped knees. I just got over my fall from New Years, too.

-Yes, I am clumsy.

-I had a dream the other night that it was my wedding day and my husband and I were taking pictures in a sunflower field.

-Sunflowers are my favorite flower.

-I was watching You’ve Got Mail the other night. Kathleen Kelly’s favorite flower is a daisy.

-Daisies may be the friendliest flowers, but sunflowers are pretty dang happy.

-I miss Rusty.

-I know I already said that. It’s just weird because he just… died. It wasn’t like he was old and/or sickly and we decided it was time to “put him to sleep.” He just died, the way a person dies. Suddenly. Quietly.

-My parents got Rusty when I was in the 5th grade. My dad told my mom they would pick whichever puppy ran up to them first. When my dad picked my sister and me up from school that day, there was all kinds of commotion around this pole, and I realized there was a puppy tied to it. I didn’t feel like trying to make my way through the crowd though, because I figured I wouldn’t be able to pet the puppy anyway, so I headed towards the car. My dad stopped me and asked me if I wanted to see the puppy. I told him no, and then to my horror, he started untying the leash from the pole. I thought he was stealing some random dog. What a surprise that was. Little Rustyboy.
