My legs are oh so very itchy. I’ve been scratching them, even though I know that it’s bad to do so. Christine even threatened to duct tape towels to my hands so that I can’t scratch, and that still didn’t phase me.
And because I think in metaphors, that whole experience made me think about us and sin. We know how bad it is for us, and yet we think that it will make us feel good. And sometimes it does (or we think it does), temporarily, but then what follows is just so bad. So the moral of the story: scratching mosquito bites and sinning are bad things.
“O God, you know how foolish I am; my sins cannot be hidden from you. -Psalm 69:5”
